Obama Leaves Moscow For G8 Summit In Italy

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi hosts the July 8-10 heads of states G8 meeting in L'Aquila.

MOSCOW -- U.S. President Barack Obama has left Moscow aboard Air Force One after two days of talks with Russian leaders.

Obama flies to Italy for a meeting with leaders of the Group of Eight (G8) in the Italian city of L'Aquila.

China, Russia, and Brazil were expected to use the summit to push their view that the world needs to start seeking a new global reserve currency as an alternative to the dollar, officials said.

But G8 members Germany, France, and Canada played down talk of the summit including a detailed currency discussion.
