Only Happy Women In Uzbekistan

According to a government-connected Uzbek pollster, 90 percent of Uzbek women are satisfied with their lives and optimistic about their bright future. Marat Hojimatov, the deputy director of the Uzbek Center for Public Opinion, told RFE/RL that the majority of respondents say Uzbekistan provides all fundamental rights for women such as social security, work, free medical care, and education. And 57 percent of those surveyed think that they have unlimited opportunities for professional growth in every corner of Uzbekistan. Women seem to be faring better than journalists, political prisoners, and missionaries.
