Bomb Attack Kills Three Soldiers In Pakistan

Pakistani troops walk on a hilltop post near Ladha, a town in the tribal region of South Waziristan.

Pakistani security officials say a roadside bomb exploded near a military convoy in the South Waziristan tribal region near the Afghan border, killing at least three soldiers.

At least three more soldiers were injured in the attack, which took place in the Ladha area.

Authorities say the bomb was detonated by remote control and destroyed one military vehicle.

South Waziristan was the main sanctuary for the Pakistani Taliban before the military launched a large ground offensive in October 2009.

But attacks against security forces have continued in the area.
