Record-breaking snowfalls and freezing temperatures have killed more than 500 people across Eastern Europe.
Authorities in Russia say 205 people have died in the deep freeze that began in late January, while in Ukraine there have been 112 fatalities.
In Poland the death toll has reached 107 people. Romania was hit particularly hard, with snowfalls, blizzards, and temperatures as low as minus 30 Celsius.
Authorities say at least 86 people died, as large parts of the south and east are struggling with up to 5 meters of snow.
Some 23,000 people remain isolated in 225 communities, without electricity or supplies.
More than 150 main roads and highways were closed.
Army and emergency-services helicopters have carried out airlifts.
There were also 35 deaths in Hungary, 20 in Serbia, and 10 in Kosovo.
