Four Suspected Militants Killed In Daghestan

Russia's Interior Ministry says security troops have killed suspected four militants in Dagestan's Khasavyurt district.

The ministry in a statement said the militants might have been involved in a suicide bombing in the district earlier on February 14.

Officials said a bomber detonated his explosives after his car was stopped at a police checkpoint on the outskirts of the city of Khasavyurt, killing four and injuring six police officers.

Daghestan is one of the most violent regions in Russia’s majority-Muslim North Caucasus, with Islamic insurgents regularly attacking officials, police, and military personnel.
