U.S. President Donald Trump said military action was an option in dealing with North Korea's nuclear threat but added "nothing's inevitable." During a joint White House news conference on September 7 with Kuwaiti leader Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah, Trump said that Pyongyang had to stop "behaving badly" and that it would be a "very sad day" for North Korea if the United States used military action. Tensions have risen to their highest level in decades since North Korea announced it had tested a hydrogen bomb that was capable of being placed on an intercontinental ballistic missile that would put the United States within range.
