Pro-Qaddafi Forces Attack Rebel-Held Misurata

A fleeing rebel falls from a truck driving back to the coastal city of Benghazi.

Reports say Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi's forces launched an artillery bombardment on Misurata today as part of an effort to retake western Libya's last big rebel stronghold.

At least four people were reported killed in the attack so far.

The assault on Libya's third-biggest city, 200 kilometers east of the capital, Tripoli, comes as Qaddafi's forces are closing in on the rebel stronghold of Benghazi in the east.
