Pakistan has lodged a protest with the United States and Afghanistan over apparent border incursions by NATO aircraft and militants.

The Foreign Ministry said on June 17 that it had told the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad of its "serious concern" about an alleged air incursion by NATO aircraft in the Mohmand tribal area.

It accused NATO aircraft of attacking a Pakistani military post, but did not say when the incident occurred.

The ministry also has summoned Afghan charge d'affaires, Majnoon Gulab, to lodge a protest about an insurgent incursion into the Bajur tribal region.

It says up to 150 militants from Afghanistan attacked Pakistani villages, killing five people on June 16.
