Rights activists say Syrian security forces killed at least five people when they opened fire on mourners attending a funeral procession for slain protesters in the central city of Homs on May 21.
Dozens of people were also reported wounded in the shooting there.
Activists say more than 40 people were killed by security forces on May 20, with most of the casualties in the western province of Idlib and in Homs.
At least 900 civilians have reportedly been killed in the regime's crackdown on dissent since protests against President Bashar al-Assad's regime began in March.
Syrian authorities have blamed most of the violence on armed groups, backed by Islamists and foreign powers, and say scores of soldiers and police have been killed.
