Reports from northern Afghanistan say a suicide bomb attack has left at least 10 people dead and injured around 25 others.

It was not immediately clear what was the target of the blast on April 4 in Maymana, capital of Faryab Province.

A police spokesman, Lal Mohammad Ahmad Zai, said four police officers were among those killed and the rest were civilians.

Some reports suggested NATO soldiers were also among the victims, but this has not been officially confirmed.

NATO's International Security Assistance Force said two of its service members were killed in a bomb explosion on April 4 in northern Afghanistan.
