U.S. President Donald Trump said there was a "growing humanitarian and security crisis" on his country's border with Mexico, in his first televised address from the Oval Office on January 8. Trump called on the Democratic Party to give approval in Congress for funding a border wall to prevent illegal migration and smuggling, but Democratic leaders accused him of manufacturing a crisis.
