Doctors have upgraded the condition of U.S. congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords from serious to good as she recovers from a gunman's rampage in Arizona that left six people dead and 11 others wounded.
Doctors at the Houston, Texas, hospital where Giffords is recovering said she is ready to move from intensive care to a rehabilitation facility.
Giffords was shot and critically wounded on January 8 while meeting with constituents in Tucson, Arizona.
The suspect in the shooting, Jared Loughner, 22, is in custody awaiting trial.
On January 24, he pleaded not guilty to federal charges of trying to assassinate the three-term Democratic congresswoman and two of her aides.
