Current Time is the leading independent Russian-language television channel, providing factual news, unbiassed reporting, and engaging video content to Russian-speaking audiences. Your Role:

As a journalist at RFE/RL, you'll wear many hats. From creating original content on a wide array of topics to conducting interviews in the field, your work will span across various platforms, ensuring that our audience stays informed and engaged. You'll be the voice of truth in a fast-changing world, maintaining the integrity and quality standards that define RFE/RL journalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation: Craft original and engaging content for multiple platforms, including radio, TV, online, social media, and print. From breaking news bulletins to in-depth features and analyses, your stories will captivate and inform our audience.
  • Field Correspondence: Act as a field correspondent, determining the focus of reports, conducting interviews, and gathering first-hand information from the frontlines of news events. Your presence in the field will bring authenticity and depth to our coverage.
  • Multi-Platform Production: Produce live, recorded, and online content, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and techniques. Whether it's moderating live discussions, recording podcasts, or creating multimedia packages, your work will resonate across various mediums.
  • Research and Analysis: Stay up-to-date with political, economic, and social developments in the target area. Conduct thorough research, sift through diverse sources, and provide insightful analysis to contextualize news stories.
  • Innovative Coverage: Explore innovative angles for coverage, ensuring relevance and resonance with our audience. From uncovering untold stories to spotlighting emerging trends, your creativity will set our journalism apart.
  • Program Coordination: Act as an editor responsible for an output segment, such as a radio or TV program, website, blog, or newspaper. Commission, select, and edit relevant material, ensuring editorial coherence and quality.
  • Professional Development: Seek opportunities for professional growth and development, both in terms of challenging assignments and training. Stay abreast of evolving journalistic practices and technologies to enhance your skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Journalism or related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience as a journalist.
  • Good familiarity with political, economic, and social situations in the broadcast area.
  • Russian (native,) Intermediate level of English proficiency.
