14 December 2004 -- A suicide car bomber attacked a checkpoint at Baghdad's Green Zone today, killing at least one person and injuring 12 others.
Authorities say the wounded include five Iraqi National Guardsmen.
Yesterday, a suicide bomber killed at least seven people and injured many more near the same checkpoint.
The U.S. Embassy and several other missions are located in the heavily guarded Green Zone. It consists of former President Saddam Hussein's palace and other administrative buildings.
