CIS Ministers Meet Today In Moscow


23 August 2005 (RFE/RL) -- Foreign ministers of the countries comprising the Commonwealth of Independent States meet today in Moscow.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said the ministers will discuss reform of the organization ahead of this week's CIS summit.

Cooperation on humanitarian, education, and health issues, as well as in fighting organized crime are also on the agenda.

Russian President Vladimir Putin will host the leaders of the 11 other CIS member states in the Volga River city of Kazan on 26 August for the group's annual summit.
