Multiple Explosions Rock Bali

1 October 2005 -- At least three explosions went off almost simultaneously in two tourist beach resorts on the Indonesian island of Bali today, killing at least two people and causing several injuries.

The blasts were confirmed by local police, who offered few details.

Local radio and television say two of the explosions occurred in the area of Jimbaran beach on Bali's south coast -- near restaurants and a luxury hotel frequented by Western tourists.

Another explosion went off at a shopping center in the nearby resort of Kuta.

Witnesses reported at least two people killed and at least three injured from the blasts.

It was in Kuta exactly three years ago -- in October 2002 -- that over 200 people were killed by a terrorist bombing blamed on a group linked to Al-Qaeda.
