G8 Ministers Agree On Security Cooperation


Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev (file photo) (ITAR-TASS) June 16, 2006 -- Interior and justice ministers from the Group of Eight (G8) leading industrialized countries today agreed on new cooperative measures against terrorism, illegal immigration, and drug trafficking.


Russian Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev said the ministers discussed practical measures to protect transport systems, tighten border controls, and thwart recruitment by terrorist organizations.


The ministers today concluded two days of G8 talks in Moscow.
