11 Taliban Killed In Southern Afghanistan

Afghan police conduct a spot check on a highway in Helmand Province (file photo) (epa) September 19, 2006 -- Afghan police say they killed 11 suspected Taliban militants and injured an unknown number of gunmen early on September in the southern province of Helmand.

An Interior Ministry spokesman said four of those killed were foreigners, but did not reveal their nationalities.

A wave of suicide attacks blamed on the Taliban killed 21 people on September 18, including four Canadian soldiers.
