Belarus Wants Share Of Caspian Deals


Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev (file photo) (Turan) October 17, 2006 -- Belarusian President Alyaksandr Lukashenka says his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev, promised to support Belarus's push for a share in Caspian energy exploration deals.


During talks in Minsk on October 7, the two leaders signed a range of agreements to enhance cooperation between the two countries. The agreements, which run to 2015, relate to areas that include education, sport, and transport.
