Iranian Dissident Released On Bail

Ali-Akbar Mussavi Khoini (file photo) (Fars) October 22, 2006 -- Former Iranian lawmaker and reformist Ali-Akbar Mussavi Khoini, arrested in June, has been released on bail, Iran's ISNA news agency reports.

The agency quotes Khoini's lawyer, Mohammad Sharif, as saying that Khoini was released late on October 21 on $163,000 bail.

Khoini, who was also represented by Iranian Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi, was jailed on June 12 during a pro-women's rights rally.
