Bush Discusses Iraq Strategy With Kurds


Mas'ud Barzani (left) with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani (file photo) (epa) December 13, 2006 -- The White House says U.S. President George W. Bush discussed the war in Iraq on the telephone today with two senior Iraqi Kurdish leaders.


Bush spoke with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and the president of the Kurdish region of Iraq, Mas'ud Barzani, as part of efforts to cement a bloc behind the fragile government in Baghdad.


Spokesman Tony Snow says Bush discussed his commitment to a democratic and federal Iraq.
