Russia To Deepen Nuclear Cooperation With India


Putin speaking to reporters from India in Moscow today (ITAR-TASS) January 23, 2007 -- Russian President Vladimir Putin says Russia will deepen its nuclear energy cooperation with India.


Putin made the comments in an interview with Indian media today, ahead of his January 25-26 visit to New Delhi.


Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov, who is currently in India, meanwhile said Russia would build additional reactors at the Kudankulam nuclear power plant in Tamil Nadu state and at new sites in India.


Russia is already building two reactors at Kudankulam.
