Police Arrest Protester Wearing Putin Mask

Environmental activists protesting Sochi bid in December 2006 (epa) July 3, 2007 -- Police in Moscow have arrested an environmental activist wearing skis and a mask of President Vladimir Putin during a protest against Sochi's bid for the 2014 Winter Olympics.

The protester was arrested after skiing across a square where other demonstrators were preparing to give him a medal for destroying Sochi's environment.

Police moved in before the medal was awarded, saying demonstrators "only had permission for a picket and held a theatrical event instead, which requires a different permit altogether."
