To recap:
A Malaysian passenger plane has crashed in Ukraine near the Russian border.
A Ukrainian Interior Ministry adviser, Anton Herashchenko, claimed the plane had been shot down by a ground-to-air missile.
Herashchenko said he believed all 280 passengers and 15 crew were killed.
He said the plane was flying at an altitude of 10,000 meters when it was hit by a missile. It came down near the town of Shakhtarsk in eastern Donetsk region.
Media reports said the plane, a Boeing 777, was on a flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysia Airlines said on Twitter it had lost contact with the plane over Ukrainian air space.
