Kadyrov Fumes As Sanctions Hit Horses
Chechen leader Ramzam Kadyrov has been left fuming by the impact of Western sanctions on one of his favorite hobbies – his stable of racehorses. Kadyrov is on a list of people sanctioned for stoking conflict in Ukraine. Restrictions have been imposed on the the horses in a number of countries, and in the latest of a series of outbursts he accused the West of harming “horses’ rights.” Kadyrov moved many of his horses to a stable in the Czech Republic in 2012, and Czech officials have announced that any profits they generate will be frozen.
