Detained Iranian Students Continue Hunger Strike

Four Iranian students detained two weeks ago are continuing their hunger strike in jail, RFE/RL's Radio Farda reports.

The students at Tehran's Amirkabir University of Technology were detained at a ceremony marking the anniversary of the death of former Prime Minister Mehdi Bazargan.

Student activist Ahmad Ghasaban told Radio Farda that the health of the striking students is deteriorating.

The brother of Majid Tavakoli -- one of the arrested activists -- told Radio Farda that his brother's state is very serious.

He says Tavakoli was transferred to a prison clinic several times.

The arrested students are demanding their immediate release without conditions.
