Obama Hosts Two-Day Summit To Build Ties With Muslim World

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- U.S. President Barack Obama is hosting a two-day Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship that is bringing together some 250 successful business and social entrepreneurs from more than 50 countries, most with large Muslim populations.

Opening the meeting, Commerce Secretary Gary Locke said boosting Muslim business would not only help the Islamic world, but would also help U.S. security and trade.

The summit fulfills a pledge Obama made in his Cairo speech to the Islamic world last June.

The U.S. president was scheduled to address the summit later today.
