The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has expressed great concern at what it says is the "deteriorating" human rights situation in Azerbaijan ahead of the forthcoming presidential election.
In a resolution approved today, PACE spelled out a number of urgent steps that needed to be taken ahead of the October 15 vote.
PACE also demanded the immediate release of three opposition journalists, as well as five others seen as political prisoners.
