DONETSK, Ukraine -- Rescue groups are continuing to search for two miners missing after a deadly accident at the Skochinsky mine near Donetsk, RFE/RL's Ukrainian Service reports.
Three miners died as a result of the sudden release of a mixture of coal and methane gas at the mine on June 6.
Ukraine's Ministry for Emergency Situations informed journalists today that three units of the state paramilitary rescue service of the Coal Industry Ministry are involved in the rescue efforts.
Twenty-three miners were in the mine at the time of the incident, 18 of whom have been hospitalized with injuries.
The Donetsk Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the accident.
