DUSHANBE -- Tajikistan's state television company has terminated an agreement to rebroadcast Russia's RTR Planeta television programs.
TajikTeleRadioCom chief Suhrob Aliev told RFE/RL's Tajik Service that RTR Planeta has not paid long overdue debts of some $210,000 to his company.
Aliev says RTR Planeta officials have ignored TajikTeleRadioCom's demands to pay the debt.
Tajik State Television and Radio Committee deputy head Abdurahmon Abdumanonov told RFE/RL that the decision to terminate the deal is motivated only by economic reasons.
