Turkmen Murders Seven, Commits Suicide


ASHGABAT -- A man in Turkmenistan has killed seven of his relatives, including his own daughter and son-in-law, then shot himself.

The incident occurred on December 21 in the eastern province of Akhal, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Turkmen Service reports.

The man was a vocal critic of the government, and local media did not report on the murders.

RFE/RL has been declared an "undesirable organization" by the Russian government.
