Ultranationalists Arrested In Southern Russia

GEORGIYEVSK, Russia -- A group of ultranationalists has been detained in the city of Georgiyevsk in Russia's southwestern Stavropol Krai, RFE/RL's Russian Service reports.

The group of 12 men is accused of creating public disorder and they each have been charged with hooliganism for their activities on June 3.

The men beat people on the streets that day with metal bars and carried nationalist signs.

They also held Molotov cocktails inscribed with the term "National Slavic Front for Russia's Liberation."

Police found books, leaflets, computer discs with extremist content, neo-Nazi music recordings, knives, and guns in the men's homes.
