Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has held talks with visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Baku.

Azerbaijan's presidential website said on December 13 that the two discussed bilateral ties during their face-to-face meeting.

Netanyahu was also expected to visit the Ohr Avner Jewish educational center in Baku and meet with representatives of the Jewish community, before heading to Kazakhstan.

Reports from Iran quoted clerics and officials complaining about Shi'ite majority Azerbaijan hosting Netanyahu.

The Israeli prime minister last met with Aliyev in January on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
