MONDAY, October 17:

Armenia: The fifth NATO week in Armenia starts (to October 21).

Belarus/Ecuador: Ecuadorian Foreign, Trade, and Integration Minister Ricardo Patino Aroca visits Minsk (to October 18).

Georgia/Kazakhstan: Tbilisi hosts Georgian-Kazakh business forum.

Serbia/Russia: Russian Emergencies Minister Sergei Shoigu visits Serbia (to October 19).

Tajikistan: British State Minister for International Development Alan Duncan visits Tajikistan (to October 19).

Ukraine/EU: EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht visits Kyiv. (The visit has reportedly been cancelled).

UN: International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.


TUESDAY, October 18:

Azerbaijan: Azerbaijan marks the 20th anniversary of its independence.

Turkey/Iraq: Istanbul hosts the Iraq Mega Projects 2011 conference.

Russia/CIS: The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Council of Prime Ministers meeting to be held in St. Petersburg.

Georgia/U.S.: U.S. Deputy Secretary of State William Burns visits Tbilisi.

Ukraine: Amendments to the presidential bill on the decriminalization of the Criminal Code article under which former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko was convicted to be considered in the Ukrainian parliament.

Ukraine/Russia: Donetsk hosts the second Ukrainian-Russian regional economic forum, attended by Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.


WEDNESDAY, October 19:

Central Asia/Russia/China: The fourth China-Russia-Central Asia Oil Forum opens in Beijing.

Kyrgyzstan/Iran: Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani visits Bishkek.

Montenegro/Russia: Russian Emergencies Minister Sergei Shoigu visits Montenegro.


THURSDAY, October 20:

Azerbaijan/Kazakhstan: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev makes an official visit to Kazakhstan (to October 21).

Georgia/Russia: The next round of Georgian-Russian talks on Russia's WTO membership bid is scheduled to be held in Geneva.

Kazakhstan: Almaty hosts the First Summit of the Turkic Council (to October 21).

Tajikistan: Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani visits Dushanbe.

Ukraine/EU: Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych visits Brussels at the invitation of the European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.
