MONDAY, December 9:

Pakistan: U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel visits Pakistan for meetings with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and other officials.

EU/Armenia: The 14th meeting of EU-Armenia Cooperation Council begins in Brussels.

EU/Azerbaijan: The 14th meeting of EU-Azerbaijan Cooperation Council begins in Brussels.

EU: The European Parliament's plenary session opens in Strasbourg ( to December 12).

UN: International Anticorruption Day.

Russia/Israel: Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman visits Moscow, meets with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Iran: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna hosts another round of talks between representatives of the world powers and Iran on implementing the Geneva deal (to December 10).

TUESDAY, December 10:

EU/Ukraine: EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton visits Kyiv to hold talks with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and government officials as well as opposition leaders (to December 11).

Russia/Iran: Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov visits Tehran (to December 11).

South Africa: Memorial service for Nelson Mandela takes place at Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg.

Ukraine: Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych holds talks with three former Ukrainian presidents in Kyiv over the political crisis.

UK/Russia: Chatham House in London hosts a discussion titled "Russia’s Vision for the Middle East & North Africa."

UN: World Human Rights Day.

UN: New York hosts the United Nations Human Rights Prize for 2013 award ceremony.

World: The Nobel Prize Peace Prize ceremony to be held in Oslo.

WEDNESDAY, December 11:

UN: International Mountain Day.

World: "TIME" magazine announces its Person of the Year 2013.

EU/Moldova: European Policy Center in Brussels hosts a discussion titled "EU Integration – Moldova’s Irreversible Choice."

THURSDAY, December 12:

Armenia/Turkey: Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu attends the Black Sea Economic Cooperation meeting in Yerevan.

EU/Georgia: The 14th meeting of EU-Georgia Cooperation Council begins in Brussels.

Russia: Constitution Day. Amnesty, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Russia's constitution, is expected.

Russia: Russian President Vladimir Putin makes annual address to the Federal Assembly.

Turkmenistan: Neutrality Day.

FRIDAY, December 13:

Afghanistan/India: Afghan President Hamid Karzai visits New Delhi, meets with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh (to December 15)

Serbia/Kosovo: Brussels hosts another round of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue with the prime ministers of Serbia and Kosovo.
