Former Serbian basketball star Predrag Danilovic has been stabbed and seriously injured in a bar fight.
Danilovic was stabbed at a cafe in the Serbian capital, Belgrade, early on May 18.
Danilovic, 43, was hospitalized with serious injuries to his head, arms, and abdomen.
Doctors said he was stable following surgery.
Belgrade police, who said the reason for the brawl was not immediately known, said the incident was under investigation.
Danilovic won four European titles with Yugoslavia and four European club champions titles with Partizan Belgrade and Virtus Bologna.
In 1994, he was voted Europe's best basketball player.
He also spent part of his career in the United States playing for the NBA's Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks.
Since retiring in 2000, the Bosnian-born Danilovic has been the general manager of Partizan.
