Armed attackers ambushed an Iraqi Army bus near the town of Baiji, some 250 kilometers north of Baghdad, killing at least eight soldiers and wounding another.
The attack caused the bus to overturn and the attackers reportedly fired on the soldiers as they attempted to get out of the vehicle.
The attackers fled and a search was in progress to hunt them down.
