Addressing the United Nations General Assembly, Iraqi President Fuad Masum has applauded the U.S.-led international coalition supporting his country against Islamic State (IS) militants.

In his speech on September 26, Masum also called for greater regional cooperation against the extremist group which he said "thrives on crises and disputes."
