Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti is arriving in Moscow on his first official visit to Russia.
Monti's two-day schedule in Russia, beginning July 22, includes a trip to the Black Sea port city of Sochi as well as meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
The agenda of Monti’s talks with the Russian leadership includes international problems such as the eurozone debt crisis, Russia’s partnership with the European Union and NATO, and the deteriorating security situation in Syria.
Several contracts with Italian companies are expected to be signed during Monti’s talks with Medvedev.
