Pakistani Caretaker Ministers Sworn In

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has sworn in a caretaker cabinet to run the administration until elections in early May.

Pakistani television covered the ceremony live on April 2 as 14 ministers who took the oath of office.

They were handpicked by caretaker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khosa, who was appointed on March 25 to lead the administration until the May 11 elections.

Portfolios for the ministers were not immediately announced but their main task will be to run the administration until a new government is elected and support the election commission in holding free and fair elections.

The new ministers include prominent newspaper editor Arif Nizami and legal expert Ahmer Bilal Soofi and has members from each of Pakistan's four provinces.
