Shi'ite Muslims marked Al-Quds Day with a demonstration in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, on July 11. The holiday was created by Iran's Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979 to show solidarity with the Palestinian people and opposition to the state of Israel.
