A Serbian official says a witness has come forward and testified that ethnic Albanian rebels harvested organs from Serbs who were taken captive during a war in Kosovo.
"We have a witness who testified about a medical procedure, done in northern Albania, that consisted of harvesting organs from Serbs kidnapped during the 1998-99 conflict in Kosovo," war crimes prosecutor in Serbia Vladimir Vukcevic said.
The European Union has launched an investigation into the alleged organ trafficking, but Kosovo and Albania have both denied it ever took place.
