Police in Bosnia-Herzegovina say two freight trains have collided head-on in the southern part of the country, killing two people and seriously injuring a third person.
The crash occurred shortly before midnight on August 22 at a train station in the town of Jablanica, about 40 kilometers north of Mostar.
Bosnian media said a fourth person escaped injury by jumping from one of the trains moments before the collision.
With both engines derailed by the impact of the collision, authorities said rail services between the capital Sarajevo and the southern city of Mostar would be suspended until an investigation into the cause of the crash is completed.
