KRYVYY RIH, Ukraine -- Officials in eastern Ukraine say a murder suspect has committed suicide by hanging himself with his shoelaces, RFE/RL's Ukrainian Service reports.
Officials at the Interior Affairs Department in the eastern Dnipropetrovsk region told RFE/RL that the 46-year suspect, who confessed that he murdered his girlfriend, hanged himself in the corridor of a local police station in the city of Kryvyy Rih on June 21.
The local prosecutor is looking into the incident and local officials say police officers face a possible investigation for negligence.
