Bush To Visit Pakistan And India In March

Bush will visit Pakistan and India in March (RFE/RL) 24 January 2006 -- U.S. President George W. Bush says he will visit India and Pakistan in March.
Bush made the announcement at the White House today during a visit of Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz. The date wasn't specified.

Neither Bush nor Aziz discussed publicly a deadly 13 January air strike in a remote Pakistani area near the Afghan border that was said to be launched by the United States.

Aziz said in an interview with the Associated Press later that he raised concerns privately with Bush about the missile attack, thought to be aimed at senior Al-Qaeda militants.

He said both leaders agreed that there was a need for better coordination and communication on such issues. He said the United States and Pakistan share a common objective.
