At Least 13 Killed In Baghdad Car Bomb Attack

Aftermath of a bomb attack in Baghdad (file photo) (epa) April 13, 2006 -- The Iraqi Interior Ministry says 13 people were killed and eight wounded in a car bomb attack in Shi'ite-dominated neighborhood of Baghdad.

The car blew up near a market on the outskirts of Al-Kadhimiyah, a western district of the city.


Also in Baghdad, gunmen killed Mahmud Ahmed, the brother of a top Sunni Arab politician, Tariq al-Hashemi.


Al-Hashemi, a member of the Iraqi Islamic Party, has been talked of as a possible speaker of the incoming parliament.
