Three Iraqi Soldiers, Four Civilians Killed

Aftermath of an attack in Baghdad in March (file photo) (epa) April 15, 2006 -- At least three Iraqi soldiers were killed today when a roadside bomb exploded as their convoy passed through the Al-Dura neighborhood of southern Baghdad, a known hotspot for insurgent activity.

In another car bomb explosion, this time in eastern Baghdad, at least three people died and approximately 20 others were wounded. The target of the attack was not immediately clear.


In the city of Fallujah, west of Baghdad, police said at least one civilian was killed and two others wounded in fighting between insurgents and the army.


In other news, the United States military announced on April 14 that two U.S. Marines were killed and 22 others wounded in fighting in the western Iraqi province of Al-Anbar on April 13. No other details were provided.
