Milosevic Fascinated Del Ponte

Slobodan Milosevic pictured during his trial in The Hague for war crimes (epa) July 28, 2006 -- United Nations' chief prosecutor Carla Del Ponte says she was fascinated by the court performance of the late Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic during his trial for war crimes.

In an interview with the German daily "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung," Del Ponte said she admired the way "he knew how to handle people."


She called his death in March, months before his verdict on charges of genocide and war crimes was due, a "defeat."
