August 30, 2006 -- The president of North Ossetia has dismissed the government of the southern Russian republic and nominated a new prime minister.
Taymuraz Mamsurov dismissed the government on August 29, expressing "disappointment" about its performance.
Parliament is expected to vote on Mamsurov's nominee, Nikolai Khlyntsov, at a special session on September 6.
