Ex-Oligarch Berezovksy To Be Tried In Absentia

Boris Berezovsky (epa) June 9, 2007 -- Russian prosecutors said today they will try ex-oligarch Boris Berezovsky in absentia.
The Russian Prosecutor-General's Office said in a statement that Berezovsky is charged with "large-scale theft" of funds from the Russian airliner Aeroflot worth some $619,200.

Berezovsky could be sentenced to a maximum 10 years in jail if found guilty.

He is currently in self-exile in Britain where officials have already said they would not extradite him to Russia.
